Action29 is a non-profit public art and beautification organization formed in 1994. Since then 13 world class murals have been completed, with more planned. Twentynine Palms is a small city in California, approximately 60 miles north-east of Palms Springs. It has a rich history since the area was first settled in the early 1900s. The clean, dry air first attracted settlers ? along with the gold in the local mountains.

The City's largest neighbors are the US Marine Corps MGACC (Marine Ground Air Combat Center, at 900 square miles the largest Marine Base in the world), and the Joshua Tree National Park, almost 1.5 million acres of carefully managed desert ecologies.
